Great Train Trip Giveaway
The hugely successful Great Train Trip Giveaway was held in 2009 with the lucky winner receiving a voucher for a VIA Rail train trip for two! The draw and presentation took place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the Rivers Train Stationette, where giveaway winner, Dennis Basso of Deloraine, and his wife, Marlene, will board the VIA Rail Canadian train traveling first class to Vancouver. The Bassos will take their trip sometime before the end of August 2009.
Filling the Draw Drum
Rivers Train Station Restoration Project co-chairs, Ralph Sprenger and Donna Morken, load the 984 tickets sold (just 16 shy of the 1000!) into the draw drum.

A most pleased and satisfied committee enjoys a cup of hot coffee in the stationette following the draw. Everyone is thrilled with the response and support given to The Great Train Trip Giveaway and the restoration project.
