June 9, 2017

Rivers Train Station commemorative plaque unveiled June 9, 2017 by The Honourable Janice C. Filmon, C.M., O.M., Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during Canada's 150th Anniversary

We celebrated the 100th birthday of the train station on June 9, 2017.

Not only did the The Honourable Janice Filmon, C.M., O.M., Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, have lunch with us, she also unveiled a plaque to commemorate our station’s 100th birthday, and planted the first “Regal Celebration Maple Tree” that was developed by Jeffries Nurseries in Portage la Prairie. This tree was planted by the Wetland Centre of Excellence in the Millennium Park.
